~When in doubt, get'a hold'a that sucker and PAINT it: Master Bedroom Furniture Redo~

Hey Friends! Okay, so I wanted to show you guys my latest project. Several years ago, my father-in-law was kind enough to pass down his beloved master bedroom furniture to us. You know me- I do NOT discriminate against hand me downs. It was very dark and dreary, however, I loved the style and character it had. What to do, what to do? So many different options. I came across Annie Sloan's Chalk Paint in Versailles- BAM! That's what it needed. Light, refined, yet still had the warmth that I was looking for. I really {LOVE} how it turned out. I'm actually going to go back with another coat of dark wax for an even more vintage look. With the furniture being lighter now, I really feel like it opens up our master bedroom and gives it that cozy look and feel.

Here are the rest of the master bedroom pictures. Now, with that being said, I should include that we just purchased and moved in our new home back in September. There are a lot of things I plan on changing, etc, throughout the whole house. So be nice and don't judge folks! :))

Don't be afraid to incorporate family heirlooms into your decorating. I displayed my husband's grandfather's old farming book. It adds character, but more importantly it is very special to us.

Don't you just love the details on this armoire?

Thanks for stopping by, Y'all! :))

  4. Yes, Deneen, it sure does. Our furniture is pretty old...40 years, I think? Maybe older...can't remember. This paint gave it a completely different look.
